Maintenance Assistant

Role Overview

At BrookLodge & Macreddin Village, the Maintenance Assistant is essential for ensuring that all hotel amenities, guest rooms, and communal spaces function efficiently and meet the highest upkeep standards. This hands-on position demands an attentive, skillful, and safety-aware person capable of diagnosing and executing a variety of repair tasks while enhancing the guest experience.

Key Duties

• Conduct routine checks and preventive maintenance across hotel facilities, guest rooms, and shared areas.
• Quickly address maintenance requests from both guests and staff members.
• Execute fundamental repairs involving plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, painting, and HVAC.
• Keep all maintenance tools and equipment in proper working condition.
• Supervise and regulate building systems such as heating, lighting, and water supply.
• Assist in event or function setup and teardown as needed.
• Collaborate closely with housekeeping, front desk, and food & beverage divisions to meet guest requirements.
• Maintain tidiness and ensure safety in all maintenance zones.
• Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines and conform to hotel policies and local legislation.
• Report significant maintenance problems or equipment malfunctions promptly to the Maintenance Manager.

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in maintenance or facility management roles, ideally within hospitality settings.
• Comprehensive understanding of standard maintenance methods and equipment operation.
• Physical capability to handle demanding tasks such as lifting, bending, and prolonged standing.
• Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
• A motivated and team-focused mindset.
• Relevant trade qualifications or technical certifications.
• A valid driver's license is beneficial.
