Job Overview
We are seeking proactive and motivated recreation professionals eager to advance their careers. This full-time lifeguard position is based at Centro Capital Doha by Rotana in Doha, Qatar.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor swimming areas and caution swimmers about unsafe zones to prevent accidents.
- Rescue swimmers at risk of drowning and provide first aid as needed.
- Maintain order and safety within the pool environment.
- Measure and manage chlorine levels and pH values in the pool water using appropriate testing kits.
- Organize and officiate swimming meets and provide swimming instruction.
- Keep the swimming pool and surrounding areas clean and well-maintained.
- Ensure sun loungers are clean, correctly positioned, and functioning properly.
- Regularly check pool temperature to maintain standards.
- Keep the pool deck free of debris during operational hours.
- Secure umbrellas properly and tie them down when not in use for safety purposes.
- Provide emergency medical care until professional emergency services arrive.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of club facilities, operating hours, promotions, and pricing.
Qualifications and Skills
- Professional swimmer with formal lifeguard training and certification, holding a diploma or university degree.
- Previous work experience in the hotel industry is preferred.
- Physically fit and capable of working extended hours outdoors.
- Proficient in English with strong interpersonal skills.
- Customer-oriented mindset with excellent guest service and complaint handling capabilities.
- Positive and approachable attitude with a sporting and outgoing character.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment and collaborate well within diverse teams.
