Lead Integration & Observability Specialist

Role Summary

NTT DATA is looking for a Lead Integration & Observability Specialist to architect, implement, and guide enterprise-level observability and reliability practices. The position supports cloud integration environments on AWS and Azure, with a strong focus on monitoring, automation, and keeping applications, APIs, data pipelines, and messaging systems production-ready.

This is a practical technical leadership role that combines solution ownership with mentoring responsibilities. The work environment may include Windows servers and .NET applications, so prior exposure to those ecosystems is helpful, though not essential. The ideal candidate should be quick to learn and comfortable moving across multiple platforms and technology stacks.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the rollout of observability across applications, APIs, services, batch processes, and data pipelines.
• Create consistent standards for monitoring, alerting, logging, metrics, and health checks across distributed systems.
• Connect observability tooling with incident management and automation solutions to identify and resolve issues earlier.
• Help maintain the reliability and uptime of integration platforms running on AWS and Azure.
• Investigate production incidents using logs, metrics, and traces to diagnose root causes and fix failures.
• Establish operational readiness guidelines and non-functional expectations.
• Coach engineers on observability practices and effective use of platform tools.
• Partner with product, support, and operations teams to strengthen service stability and delivery outcomes.
• Operate across varied environments such as Windows servers, .NET applications, cloud services, and integration/messaging platforms.

Required Experience and Skills

• At least 7 years of overall experience in IT.
• Minimum 5 years of direct experience in observability, monitoring, or reliability engineering.
• Strong practical experience with enterprise observability platforms such as IBM Instana, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Solid capability in designing monitoring and alerting frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with log analysis and log management.
• Working knowledge of metrics, distributed tracing, and related diagnostics.
• Understanding of health checks and SLO/SLI concepts.
• Experience monitoring workloads hosted on AWS or Azure.
• Strong troubleshooting and incident analysis skills in production environments.
• Experience defining operational requirements and non-functional requirements.
• Background in technical leadership and mentoring.
• Experience integrating automation with ITSM processes, including ServiceNow workflows and incident automation.
• Exposure to CI/CD and release management practices.
• Exposure to cloud integration and messaging systems.

Preferred Background

• Experience working in Windows server environments.
• Exposure to monitoring or supporting .NET applications, IIS, Windows services, or related Microsoft technologies.
• Ability to learn new tools, systems, and environments quickly.
• Comfort working across multiple stacks, including Windows/.NET, cloud platforms, integration tools, messaging technologies, and observability platforms.
• Experience with enterprise production support, application reliability, and operational readiness practices.
