Laundry Attendant

Job Overview

The Laundry Attendant role involves managing all laundry and dry-cleaning processes while adhering strictly to hotel standards and procedures. The position requires comprehensive knowledge of textiles, laundering techniques, and handling of equipment and chemicals according to safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage laundry and dry-cleaning following established hotel procedures and standards.
• Adhere to linen and uniform laundry cycles and instructions.
• Possess detailed knowledge of textile types and proper care methods.
• Operate machinery and equipment responsibly, performing required maintenance.
• Handle chemicals safely using correct formulations in compliance with health and safety protocols.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or damage along with linen or uniform issues immediately to supervisors.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the laundry workspace and storage areas.
• Properly handle lost and found articles associated with laundry operations.
• Participate in monthly inventory checks and follow daily checklists diligently.
• Observe telephone etiquette in line with Sofitel standards and communicate guest comments or complaints as necessary.
• Follow agreed schedules, deadlines, and report comprehensively through laundry logbooks and reports.

Additional Duties

• Arrive punctually in proper uniform and name tag while maintaining high personal hygiene standards.
• Deliver courteous, professional service consistently.
• Foster positive working relationships with colleagues and across departments.
• Comply with hotel policies, especially those concerning fire, hygiene, health, and safety regulations.
• Adhere to local laws and respond flexibly to departmental changes and additional duties, including reassignment when required.
• Participate in training sessions and meetings as directed.

Health and Safety Responsibilities

• Identify and report hazards promptly to ensure corrective measures.
• Maintain full awareness of departmental emergency procedures including fire, bomb, and evacuation drills.
• Enforce emergency procedures to safeguard guests and staff.
• Ensure all work practices minimize risks and comply with health and safety standards, including proper manual handling techniques.
• Support environmental sustainability practices to reduce pollution according to Accor Health, Safety, and Environment policies.

Confidentiality and Security

• Protect confidentiality and secure storage of intellectual properties and data in both physical and electronic formats.
• Adhere to policies related to the use of Internet and email, safeguarding hotel, customer, and employee information during and after employment.
