Role Responsibilities
- Facilitate engineering activities by coordinating with primary project stakeholders such as client design teams, main contractors, suppliers, and sub-contractors.
- Maintain accurate information reporting to monitor and meet activity deadlines, managing an Engineering Task Log under the Engineering Lead.
- Analyze Design and IFC specifications and drawings to thoroughly understand project scope, overseeing the coordination that converts design information into full installation drawings by BIM teams, ensuring compliance with specifications and schedule priorities, including generation and management of Requests for Information (RFI).
- Support the Installation Package team in maintaining quality standards on site, ensuring all work adheres to relevant standards, codes, and specifications, overseeing validation and client handover processes.
- Review sub-contract and supplier tender submissions to verify technical conformity with design intent and specifications.
- Monitor the project schedule to ensure engineering undertakings do not adversely impact procurement or other timeline-driven activities.
- Administer technical submittals and approvals processes.
- Oversee procurement of materials using the Engineering Materials Report (EMR), generating material take-offs that identify lead times and field demand rates.
- Ensure installation work complies strictly with project specifications and the established Quality Assurance plan.
- Manage sub-contractors, guaranteeing adequate information exchange to align work progress with the project schedule and documented weekly meetings.
- Identify opportunities to adopt innovative engineering practices to expedite project delivery.
- Prepare and finalize project completion criteria and closeout documentation.
- Collaborate with the Project QS to develop sub-contract and supplier tender packages.
- Coordinate the Construction Work Packs process, overseeing their development, implementation, and handover, including on-site support for the construction management team.
- Lead BIM prioritization initiatives, assisting the team in developing modular concepts, typical fabrication details, and isometric drawings for construction release; verify materials and assets within models and maintain strict change management controls.
- Participate in project meetings and White Board Activity Planning sessions as necessary, based on project and managerial requirements.
Candidate Criteria
- Possess 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Hold a degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Exhibit strong organizational and project planning capabilities.
- Demonstrate teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Show proficiency in negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- Skilled in Navisworks and engineering-related database systems.
- Knowledgeable about Project/Primavera planning software and CAD/BIM processes.
- Capable of managing workload efficiently and prioritizing tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
