Position Overview
Reporting to the Director of IT Infrastructure, Support and Security, the IT Collaboration Specialist at Canada Cartage is responsible for managing, supporting, and enhancing enterprise collaboration platforms, particularly Zoom and Microsoft 365 suite tools including SharePoint, OneDrive, and Viva. This role focuses on delivering strong operational support while driving platform improvements, user enablement, and adoption to optimize the collaboration experience.
Work Environment and Schedule
- Role location: Mississauga, Ontario, with a hybrid work model requiring on-site presence three days per week.
- Standard workweek; availability for occasional after-hours or weekend shifts is essential for on-call rotation, system upgrades, and escalated support.
- Some travel to different sites may be necessary; candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and vehicle access.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolve escalated issues related to enterprise collaboration platforms.
- Configure platform settings, manage policies, permissions, and system integrations efficiently.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective solutions to maintain platform health and reliability.
- Collaborate with security, service desk, and infrastructure teams to ensure compliance and adherence to platform standards.
- Test and validate new platform features, updates, and releases to guarantee quality deployments.
- Drive user engagement and adoption, develop and maintain documentation, standards, and procedural guidelines.
- Support change management processes and version control activities to ensure smooth operations.
- Identify opportunities for performance optimization, automation enhancements, and user experience improvements.
- Create instructional guides and conduct training sessions to facilitate platform adoption.
- Maintain governance standards including naming conventions, access controls, and lifecycle management.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise collaboration platforms.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications, including SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Viva.
- Skilled with Zoom platform features such as Chat, Meetings, AI Companion, Zoom Phone, and Contact Center.
- Strong troubleshooting aptitude and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience with identity and access management technologies including Entra ID and Single Sign-On (SSO).
- Understanding of security principles, compliance requirements, data loss prevention (DLP), and retention policies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective documentation and cross-team collaboration.
- Preferred experience with Power Platform, Power Automate, or scripting to automate workflows.
- Familiarity with ITIL methodologies and experience working within large distributed environments is advantageous.
- Ability to prioritize customer needs, demonstrate ownership, and translate technical capabilities into user-friendly instructions.
