Role Overview
The Lagos Food Bank is looking for a meticulous Inventory Officer to manage the organization's inventory operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for tracking stock accurately, maintaining dependable records, analyzing inventory data, and facilitating smooth distribution of food supplies. Proximity to the Food Bank location is essential to ensure rapid operational response.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect incoming food donations and purchased stock, methodically documenting and organizing them.
- Keep precise inventory records utilizing spreadsheets and inventory management software.
- Carry out regular physical stock counts and reconcile with inventory records to maintain accuracy.
- Evaluate inventory data to detect patterns, shortages, excesses, and possible areas for optimizing processes.
- Generate inventory and distribution reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Implement and oversee appropriate stock rotation methods like FIFO/FEFO, paying close attention to expiry dates.
- Collaborate with warehouse, logistics, and program teams to enable effective food distribution.
- Quickly investigate and resolve any inconsistencies found in inventory records.
- Maintain the warehouse in an organized, clean state adhering to food safety standards.
- Assist with audits and ensure compliance with established inventory management procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Candidates should have at least 1-2 years of relevant working experience.
- A minimum qualification of a Bachelor's Degree is required.

- Strong skills in validating data and managing accurate records.
