Integration Design Data Engineering Team Leader

About the Role

This leadership position involves steering the development and execution of integration design strategies within the Data Engineering team. You will play a vital role in shaping the section's goals, aligning with enterprise data asset strategies, and advancing the bank's vision through innovative integration solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and drive adherence to policies, standards, and procedures governing data integration design activities across diverse data sources, including Enterprise Data Warehouse, Big Data, and Operational Data Repository.
• Ensure compliance with departmental standards and established operating protocols to maintain consistent and governed integration processes.
• Identify opportunities to enhance internal processes through improvements and automation, optimizing service quality and deliverable performance.
• Supervise daily integration design operations, managing teams and resources across various bank divisions and projects aligned to strategic plans.
• Lead and develop integration design engineers, fostering team growth and managing workloads effectively.
• Implement methodologies to monitor and enhance integration performance, while ensuring readiness and scalability of integration resources and technologies.
• Participate actively in tactical committees related to the bank’s strategic initiatives, providing data integration leadership and insights.
• Plan data design tool acquisitions and resource engagement through the full project lifecycle, overseeing integration solutions and big data integration standards to maximize business value.
• Communicate project progress to stakeholders and promote data awareness, coaching team members on leveraging data as a key enterprise asset.
• Drive innovation in integration design, focusing on reusability, scalability, and risk mitigation to accelerate implementation effectiveness.
• Manage recruitment, performance, and motivation of the integration design team; set objectives and provide feedback to enhance division performance.
• Assess impacts of changes on systems, people, and processes, facilitating communication for smooth transitions.
• Represent the section in internal and external forums to ensure timely resolution of relevant matters.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Management Systems or Computer Science; Master’s degree in MIS is preferred.
• 6 to 8 years’ experience specializing in integration design tools and methodologies within banking or financial services.
• Advanced proficiency in English communication.
• Strong understanding of banking compliance requirements.
• Expertise in various data engineering integration and streaming technologies and current trends.
• Leadership qualities including strategic thinking, negotiation, conflict management, and project management skills.
• Capable of building and managing high-performing teams.
