İş tanımı
About the Organization
You would be joining a rapidly expanding service company with multiple locations and a workforce made up largely of hourly employees spread across several markets. The business has a hands-on, field-driven operating style and places strong emphasis on execution at the store level, customer experience, and consistent day-to-day operations.
What the Role Offers
This is a chance to become the first dedicated HR leader and shape the people function from the ground up. The position offers direct exposure to executive leadership and the opportunity to influence how HR grows and scales across the company. It combines strategic planning, process creation, systems work, and practical execution rather than focusing on only one area of HR. As the company continues to grow and integrate, the role also offers meaningful advancement potential and the opportunity to support field operations, store teams, accounting, and leadership.
Location
The role is based in Charlotte, North Carolina, with hybrid flexibility. The expected cadence is 3 to 4 days per week in the office, with some flexibility available. A small amount of travel to operating locations may be useful at the start, but ongoing travel is not expected to be substantial.
Key Responsibilities
You will help assess, choose, and roll out a single HRIS platform and establish the structure needed to bring two legacy businesses together on one operating system. The job also includes aligning employee handbooks, policies, PTO rules, benefits plans, payroll practices, employee records, and other HR workflows. In addition, you will work closely with accounting and operations on payroll coordination, benefits administration, onboarding, compliance, employee documentation, and HR reporting. Another major part of the role is supporting field leaders with employee relations, investigations, performance management, workers’ compensation, recordkeeping, and practical compliance guidance. Over time, you will build HR processes that can support a high-volume, multi-site hourly workforce and scale with future growth.
Ideal Background
The strongest fit will bring practical HR experience in a multi-site environment with hourly employees. Experience in service, field, retail, hospitality, or similar high-volume operations is especially relevant. The role calls for experience in core HR functions such as payroll coordination, benefits administration, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, workers’ compensation, and policy management. Because the function is being built out, the person in this seat should be comfortable operating as the department of one for the near term while creating structure and consistency across the business. Strong judgment, discretion, clear communication, and a business-minded approach to partnering with accounting, operations, and leadership are important.
Additional Information
Some travel to locations may be needed early in the role to support implementation and relationship-building. Over time, regular travel is expected to remain limited.
