Role Overview
Based in the UAE, the HSSE Technical Assistant will report to the HSSE Assurance Director and provide essential technical and administrative support for the Corporate HSSE function. This role focuses on enhancing HSSE systems, reporting tools, and data analytics to improve performance monitoring and assurance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the HSSE Assurance Director with both technical and administrative tasks.
- Coordinate HSSE-related communications and information dissemination across the company.
- Create, format, and upkeep HSSE documents, presentations, campaigns, and visual materials aligned with corporate branding.
- Develop and maintain a structured records management process for swift document access.
- Ensure timely data input into HSSE reporting platforms and monitor compliance with reporting deadlines.
- Verify accuracy and integrity of HSSE data and oversee corrective actions if issues arise.
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and visual reports for HSSE metrics.
- Support development and upkeep of HSSE digital solutions including applications on the Microsoft Power Platform.
- Provide frontline technical assistance to users of HSSE digital systems and escalate complex issues.
- Track HSSE corrective actions, report overdue items, and identify performance gaps.
- Contribute to HSSE training by developing interactive and SCORM compliant content.
- Produce lessons learned materials, safety alerts, and awareness communications.
- Continuously seek process and system improvements through standardization and digitalization.
- Perform additional duties as required, adapting to evolving organizational needs.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent health, safety, security, and environment (HSSE) qualification.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, preferably with formal certification or demonstrable skills.
- Minimum three years’ experience within HSSE, quality assurance, or related roles in corporate or project settings, with GCC experience preferred.
- Experience supporting HSSE reporting and corrective action tracking systems.
- Proven capabilities in developing performance reporting dashboards and digital HSSE tools, especially using Power BI and Microsoft Power Platform applications.
- Familiarity with creating e-learning or interactive training materials is advantageous.
Skills and Competencies
- Exceptional written and spoken English communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with capacity to juggle multiple priorities effectively.
- High detail orientation focusing on data accuracy, document control, and reports.
- Proficiency across Microsoft 365 suite including Word, PowerPoint, Forms, Outlook, and SharePoint.
- Advanced Excel skills including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data validation tools.
- Practical experience developing data visualization dashboards in Power BI.
- Functional knowledge of Power Apps and Power Automate platforms.
- Solid understanding of HSSE performance metrics, incident classification systems, and trend analysis.
- Ability to analyze data and present it coherently to support management decisions and assurance activities.
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Proactive mindset toward continuous process refinement and digital enhancement of HSSE systems.
