Role Summary

This role partners with department leaders and the HR department to cultivate an optimal workplace environment, directly assisting team members with HR inquiries and engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Encourage a healthy work atmosphere and promote awareness of support programs for employees
  • Respond confidentially to employee questions regarding HR policies both verbally and in writing
  • Advise management on personnel matters, escalating complex issues as needed
  • Assist with payroll processes, including weekly audits, reporting, exception resolution, and liaison with staffing agencies
  • Report on completion of online training and support employees in fulfilling assigned courses
  • Serve as the on-site contact for Leaves of Absence administration
  • Conduct new hire orientation and participate in onboarding activities
  • Support recruitment and interviewing efforts
  • Assist employees with benefit enrollment and facilitate open enrollment sessions
  • Help implement team recognition programs and encourage employee engagement
  • Participate in marketing initiatives both internally and externally
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Essential Skills and Competencies

  • Strong comprehension and adherence to company policies, procedures, and conduct codes
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive and service-oriented mindset towards employees and customers
  • Basic benefits knowledge and familiarity with leave of absence processes
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently with minimum supervision

  • Professionalism in interactions with supervisors, staff, and customers, maintaining tact and diplomacy
  • Capability to handle mentally demanding situations effectively
  • Comfortable operating office equipment and working primarily in an office setting, with occasional presence on manufacturing and warehouse floors

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Primarily indoor office work, requiring prolonged computer use and typing
  • Regular communication activities including talking and listening
  • Minor physical activity with considerable sitting
  • Some presence required on manufacturing and warehouse floors

Job Details

  • Full-time position with standard workweek of 40 hours, Monday through Friday; occasional weekend or shift work may be necessary
  • Minimal travel is expected

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of experience within a human resources role
  • Minimum one year in a position requiring strong computer skills such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with varying requirements
