About the Role
KIMS Hospital in Maidstone, Kent, is seeking a dedicated Hospital Porter to join their team. This role offers a part-time position with 22.5 working hours per week on a rota pattern between 06:30 and 20:30 from Monday to Sunday. The annual salary is £14,870.70. This position plays a vital role in ensuring a seamless and positive experience for patients, visitors, and hospital staff by delivering professional and efficient portering services across the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transporting patients, medical equipment, stores, and specimens throughout the facility.
- Greeting and assisting patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism, including escorting them as needed.
- Supporting the admission and discharge processes by offering guidance and help.
- Contributing to the security and upkeep of hospital areas, including car parking and public spaces, to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
- Responding promptly and effectively to emergencies while collaborating proactively with colleagues to maintain smooth hospital operations.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will possess excellent communication and customer service abilities, a friendly and professional attitude with a strong focus on patients, and the capacity to work independently or collaboratively within a busy work setting.
- Prior experience in hospital portering or similar customer-facing roles is advantageous.
- Familiarity with healthcare environments is desirable but not essential.
