About the Role

This opportunity is for a Healthcare Assistant position based in Gormanston, County Meath, Ireland, with Nua Healthcare Services—an established provider specializing in delivering mental health, residential, and supported living for both children and adults with complex needs. Main Responsibilities

  • Embody the Mission, Vision, and Values of Nua Healthcare Services in daily activities.
  • Act in accordance with the Mental Health Act 2001, Mental Health Amendment Act 2018, Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, and related policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Maintain absolute confidentiality regarding all work-related information.
  • Show respect, dignity, and professionalism in interactions with patients and their families.
  • Assist individuals experiencing mental health issues as directed by psychiatrists and clinical professionals.
  • Help clients with daily personal care, meals, and maintaining their surroundings as required.
  • Closely monitor, document, and report patients’ vital health indicators such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and weight as prescribed.
  • Encourage and facilitate participation in therapy and rehabilitation programs designed for increasing independent living skills.
  • Support overall safety and efficient operation of the care unit.
  • Accurately complete patient records and required documentation, including timesheets.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • A Fetac Level 5 award in Health Care Support or equivalent qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Understanding of the Mental Health Act 2001 and Mental Health Commission guidelines is desirable.
  • Experience in a similar healthcare environment for at least 1 year is advantageous, though not essential.
  • Possession of a full, clean driver’s license or progress toward obtaining one is beneficial.
  • Effective communication and listening abilities.
  • Able to operate successfully as a team player.
  • Keen observation and reporting capabilities.
