Head Supply Chain Management

About the Role

This leadership opening is for a senior supply chain professional to oversee the full SCM function for an automotive or manufacturing setup in Chengalpattu. The role combines strategic planning with hands-on execution across procurement, production planning, inventory control, warehousing, and logistics.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct the complete supply chain workflow, covering sourcing, procurement, production planning, stock management, warehouse operations, and inbound/outbound movement of materials.
• Create and implement sourcing and purchasing strategies aimed at improving cost efficiency, quality standards, and supplier performance.
• Manage vendor growth initiatives, commercial negotiations, and strategic sourcing programs.
• Maintain steady material flow so production and customer dispatch timelines are met without disruption.
• Optimize inventory levels, warehouse processes, and logistics execution to raise efficiency and reduce tied-up working capital.
• Work closely with Production, PPC, Sales, Quality, Finance, and other internal teams to keep supply chain activities aligned.
• Ensure adherence to GST, import/export rules, EHS norms, and other applicable statutory obligations.
• Champion process improvement, automation, digital adoption, and broader supply chain enhancement efforts.
• Coach, guide, and strengthen the SCM team while promoting high performance and operational discipline.
• Use ERP tools, preferably SAP MM/WM, for planning, purchasing, inventory tracking, and logistics control.

Requirements

• 12 to 15+ years of relevant experience in supply chain management, ideally in automotive or manufacturing environments.
• Strong practical knowledge of procurement, planning, logistics, warehouse operations, vendor handling, and inventory control.
• Working experience with SAP MM/WM or comparable ERP platforms.
• Proven ability in leadership, analytical thinking, negotiation, stakeholder coordination, and structured problem-solving.

Eligibility

Applicants should hold a B.Tech or B.E. degree in any specialization.
