Role Overview

The Head of Direct (eCommerce) role is tasked with establishing and executing Dyson Canada's growth strategy for its eCommerce and Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) operations. This leadership position holds full responsibility for the Direct business profit and loss, overseeing commercial strategy across DysonCanada.ca, company-operated retail stores, marketplaces, and Customer Care. The key focus is driving growth through the flagship eCommerce platform DysonCanada.ca while ensuring premium brand representation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and advocate the overarching vision and strategy for Dyson Canada's eCommerce and DTC sectors.
  • Create and implement a go-to-market strategy that encourages customers to purchase directly via unique product offerings, services, and commercial activities.
  • Formulate a strategic roadmap targeting sustainable growth and enhanced customer engagement across direct channels.
  • Align internal stakeholders with the growth priorities that support both eCommerce success and overarching company objectives.
  • Manage the P&L for the Direct business delivering on revenue, profitability and growth objectives.
  • Steer commercial strategies and trading plans for DysonCanada.ca and the broader Direct business.
  • Coordinate integrated plans involving trading, marketing, operations, finance, and personnel functions.
  • Lead performance forecasting, monitoring, and reviews to meet growth expectations and mitigate risks.
  • Oversee seamless execution of the eCommerce and DTC growth strategy across multiple teams including Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Retail, and Logistics.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Category teams on product launches, media strategies, and customer acquisition campaigns.
  • Ensure premium customer experience throughout the end-to-end Direct channel journey, optimizing for conversion and satisfaction.
  • Drive continuous improvements using analytics, consumer insights and best practices to adapt to evolving market and customer dynamics.
  • Lead and nurture a high-performing team focused on innovation, accountability, and ongoing development.
  • Enhance eCommerce and commercial capabilities while partnering with regional and global Dysons for best practice integration and growth opportunities.
  • Promote innovation and continuous improvement for competitive advantage.

Candidate Profile

  • Extensive experience exceeding 10 years in eCommerce, digital commerce and customer growth leadership roles.
  • Solid expertise in eCommerce trading, site merchandising, conversion rate optimization, and customer journey management.
  • Strong commercial understanding with experience managing budgets and profit and loss responsibility.
  • Proven success leading performance marketing, digital media, and customer acquisition initiatives.
  • Knowledgeable in CRM, lifecycle marketing, email marketing, affiliate programs, and managing third-party marketplace partnerships.
  • Track record of driving growth within premium consumer brands and managing both owned and partner distribution channels.
  • Comprehensive understanding of customer behaviors, digital commerce trends, and eCommerce operational infrastructure including logistics and analytics.
  • Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills with ability to influence across complex organizations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling capabilities to translate data into actionable business stories.
  • Entrepreneurial and proactive mindset with high integrity and professionalism.
  • Flexibility to travel within Canada and internationally as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary range is $161,600 to $202,000, with additional bonus potential.
