Role Overview

We are inviting a commercially astute and experienced Group Financial Controller to steer financial strategy and lead our centralized finance department. The position extends beyond compliance and reporting, positioning the controller as a critical commercial adviser to the Managing Director and the Board. Utilizing financial insights, risk evaluations, and market trend analysis, you will influence growth strategies, capital investments, and acquisition decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead financial due diligence, feasibility assessments, and investment evaluations for new locations and brand acquisitions.
• Collaborate with senior leaders to convert financial information into strategic initiatives that enhance profitability across sales, fleet, and aftersales areas.
• Produce consolidated monthly management accounts, key performance indicators, and variance reports for the Board.
• Manage working capital, oversee multi-million euro funding and banking arrangements, and control cash flow forecasts.
• Establish and maintain stringent internal financial controls, processes, and governance across all group sites.
• Guide, mentor, and develop the centralized accounts and finance team, encouraging continuous advancement.
• Ensure full compliance with statutory obligations, including VAT, PAYE, and Corporation Tax reporting.

Candidate Profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience.
• Demonstrated senior financial leadership experience within the automotive or motor retail sector is highly preferred.
• Experience managing finances across multiple sites and franchise operations.
• Strong commercial insight, capable of identifying growth prospects and managing expansion risks.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with a history of effective negotiation with partners, banks, and manufacturers.
• Proficient in Dealer Management Systems (DMS) and advanced financial reporting tools.
