Groundsperson

About the Role

Amrize is seeking a dedicated Groundsperson to contribute to the development and maintenance of its aggregates projects in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. This position reports directly to the Aggregates Production Lead Hand and involves working closely with the Saskatoon Aggregates team to ensure smooth operation and maintenance of site grounds.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute various types of manual labor tasks as assigned.
• Manage materials, tools, and equipment essential for daily operations.
• Operate vehicles and small mobile machinery, including skid steers, when necessary.
• Clear spillage around conveyor belts to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
• Maintain safety for all personnel, community members, and environmental standards.
• Identify and apply industry best practices to improve operations.
• Foster teamwork, support personnel development, and mediate any conflicts within the team.
• Detect and communicate any product-related issues promptly.
• Commit to communicating, enhancing, and following all health, safety, and environmental protocols, promoting a culture focused on safety.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum education requirement: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience with general maintenance tasks is expected.
• Preparedness to work outdoors throughout the year regardless of weather conditions.
• A positive, proactive mindset emphasizing teamwork and adherence to safety.
• Strong communication skills coupled with sound problem-solving abilities.
• Strict compliance with all safety guidelines, including the use of company-approved Personal Protective Equipment such as respirators. Candidates required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven at sealing areas to ensure proper fit.
