Role Overview
You will assume worldwide responsibility for engineering activities within the ETO (Engineer-to-Order) project environment. Your leadership will focus on establishing, guiding, and enhancing an integrated global engineering division. This includes the unification and harmonization of engineering standards, methodologies, and workflows to ensure consistency and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing standardized engineering processes and harmonizing the use of engineering tools and systems such as CAD, PLM, and SAP.
- Ensuring high technical quality, cost efficiency, punctual delivery, and adherence to project target costs.
- Collaborating closely with project management, sales, procurement, operations, manufacturing, assembly, and commissioning teams.
- Managing global engineering resources and capacities, including international teams, to meet project demands.
- Providing technical governance for projects and supporting escalation, risk management, and change processes.
- Fostering a global engineering culture that emphasizes shared quality standards and transparent reporting.
Candidate Profile
- Completed technical degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Plant Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
- Extensive experience in international engineering roles within the machinery or plant engineering sector, preferably in the ETO field.
- Proven leadership skills and experience in transforming globally distributed engineering organizations.
- Deep understanding of technical interrelations throughout the entire ETO value chain.
- Experience in standardizing and harmonizing engineering processes and methods.
- Knowledge of CAD, PLM, and ERP systems—particularly SAP—and their integration into end-to-end workflows.
- Strong capability to strategically develop and operationally execute complex technical organizational transformations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and assertiveness skills in an international context.
- Fluency in German and English is mandatory; additional languages are advantageous.
- Willingness to undertake frequent international travel.
