About the Role
Sheikh Khalifa Medical City Ajman is looking for a highly driven and patient-centered General Practitioner specialized in Emergency Medicine to join their busy Emergency Department. This opportunity involves providing acute care in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment committed to outstanding emergency services.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough evaluation, diagnosis, stabilization, and treatment of patients with urgent medical conditions and injuries.
- Deliver prompt, evidence-supported emergency medical interventions in line with hospital policies and recognized international standards.
- Conduct emergency procedures applicable within the practitioner's scope and respond efficiently to critical medical situations.
- Order and analyze laboratory and diagnostic tests to guide patient care decisions.
- Coordinate closely with consultants, specialists, nursing teams, and allied health professionals to ensure seamless patient management.
- Identify cases requiring hospital admission, referrals, or patient transfers and manage these processes appropriately.
- Document clinical encounters accurately and promptly using electronic medical record systems.
- Engage in clinical audits, quality improvement efforts, and initiatives promoting patient safety.
- Contribute to ongoing professional development and educational programs within the department.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possess an MBBS or an equivalent medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an accredited internship program is required.
- Hold a valid UAE Medical License (MOHAP, DHA, or DOH) or be eligible to acquire MOHAP licensure.
- Have at least five years of post-internship experience working in an Emergency Department in a tertiary or acute care setting.
- Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Additional emergency certifications such as ATLS or PALS are advantageous.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, teamwork abilities, and sound clinical judgment.
- Capacity to operate effectively under pressure in a fast-moving emergency setting.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
