About the Role
Master Flo Valve Inc. invites applications for the position of General Manager, Canadian Operations based in Edmonton, Alberta. This full-time, permanent role focuses on overseeing and advancing the company's operations within Canada, aligning corporate goals with market demands to enhance shareholder value and foster growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive achievement of Canadian corporate objectives.
- Develop, recommend, and implement both immediate and long-range strategies to promote growth and maximize shareholder returns.
- Ensure profit and loss goals are met according to budget.
- Lead and support the Edmonton Management Team in their roles.
- Establish, oversee, and analyze key performance indicators to guide performance improvements.
- Collaborate closely with Sales Executives to align operational efforts.
- Adapt and grow company operations in response to domestic and international market trends.
- Coordinate with other Master Flo Division General Managers to maintain operational consistency and synergy.
- Set strategic and tactical objectives for self and direct reports, ensuring achievement.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of Master Flo product lines.
- Provide the company's President with regular updates on performance, challenges, and opportunities.
- Monitor and improve systems supporting operational efficiency.
- Define business unit budgets and financial goals.
- Enforce company-wide adherence to policies and procedures.
- Maintain strong customer relationships.
- Lead initiatives in continuous improvement and lean management practices.
- Promote employee safety through cooperative operational conduct.
- Foster effective inter-departmental communication and a culture focused on positive results.
- Prepare Board reports and present findings as requested to the Board.
- Provide leadership through consistent and positive employee communication.
Candidate Profile
- University degree in Engineering, Business, Accounting, or related field.
- At least 10 years' experience in senior or strategic management roles.
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic vision and direction.
- Experience in the industry and familiarity with related products preferred.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the capability to influence and unify executive teams and senior managers.
- Proficiency in developing and tracking key performance indicators.
- Skilled in fostering accountability and commitment to goals.
- Excellent financial and analytical skills.
- Track record of integrity and delivering results.
- Well-developed skills in customer relationship management.
- Knowledge of global supply chains and international business is an advantage.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety standards.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required.
