About the Role
We are seeking a Games Mathematician based in Ireland to join a dynamic environment where mathematical proficiency shapes compelling and trustworthy player experiences. This position involves creating, verifying, and refining the mathematical foundations underlying casino and slot games. The role demands close collaboration with designers, developers, and external stakeholders to ensure game math is precise, balanced, and compliant with industry regulations. It offers a stimulating opportunity for individuals enthusiastic about probability, simulations, and delivering superior gaming products within a cooperative team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and manage mathematical models supporting casino and slot game development, such as Return to Player (RTP) calculations, betting systems, jackpot mechanics, and game metadata.
- Maintain accurate, version-controlled mathematical documentation aligned with final game behavior.
- Establish and uphold internal standards, templates, and workflows to enhance uniformity and efficiency throughout production.
- Construct spreadsheet models and software simulations to validate internal and external mathematical models independently.
- Conduct thorough analysis, verification, and formal evaluations of game mathematics before certification and launch.
- Track live game metrics, compare performances with theoretical predictions, and investigate discrepancies.
- Create and sustain mathematical tools, calculators, and automation solutions to streamline production.
- Develop, test, and document programming code used for mathematical tooling and validation processes.
- Work collaboratively with game designers, engineers, and external partners to guarantee precise implementation of mathematical models.
- Serve as the expert in game mathematics, effectively communicating complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Proven experience in designing, developing, or validating mathematical models for casino, slot, or gaming products.
- Deep knowledge of applied mathematics, probability theory, statistics, and analytical modeling.
- Proficiency in software programming for mathematical tools, preferably using Python, JavaScript, or related languages.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, capable of creating complex models and automating calculations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven and structured approach.
- Excellent English communication abilities, both written and verbal, including technical documentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and clarify mathematical concepts for non-specialists.
- Experience with regulated iGaming environments, RTP certification, jackpot systems, volatility modeling, integration with game engines, or software development processes is advantageous.
Perks and Benefits
- Work remotely from any location.
- Engage with innovative gaming projects and complex mathematical challenges.
- Collaborative and creative culture focused on technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Cross-disciplinary teamwork exposure involving game design, engineering, and product development.
- Possibilities for professional advancement in a technology-driven company.
- Direct impact on the quality and success of player experiences.
