Job description
Overview
Located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, this role focuses on structuring, managing, and refining pricing strategies for international freight shipments across air, ocean, and land modes. The executive will aim to secure profitable business opportunities while providing the sales team with compelling quotes and detailed margin insights.
Key Duties
- Develop and update pricing frameworks for various transportation channels and service levels covering multiple trade lanes.
- Analyze customer needs alongside carrier pricing to formulate competitive quotations.
- Track profitability and key performance benchmarks such as quote conversion rates and punctual delivery metrics.
- Work closely with sales, operations, and supplier teams to validate quote feasibility and service guarantees.
- Handle special pricing situations including high-risk, large-value, and urgent shipment requests.
- Maintain and input pricing-related data within ERP and transport management systems.
- Prepare ongoing pricing performance reports for leadership to identify patterns, opportunities, and maintain current rates.
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies, industry standards, and documentation protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business administration, economics, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three to five years of experience in freight forwarding pricing or commercial roles; experience with international logistics preferred.
- Strong knowledge of multimodal freight pricing methodologies, international commercial terms (Incoterms), and carrier contractual models.
- Analytical skills to develop cost models, conduct profitability assessments, and deliver clear strategic recommendations.
- Capacity to manage multiple pricing offers under stringent deadlines.
Preferred Attributes
- Professional certifications in logistics or pricing such as FIATA, ASTL, or CPSM are advantageous.
- Understanding of customs regulations and import/export documentation procedures.
- Experience dealing with international pricing components including surcharges and currency fluctuations.
