Job description
Overview
The Financial Controller position involves oversight and auditing of financial activities, ensuring adherence to financial and legal frameworks, and generating detailed financial control reports. The role is critical in maintaining the financial integrity of the Strategic Office for Developing Al Baha Region.
Primary Responsibilities
- Review and authorize disbursement paperwork following verification of compliance with relevant financial and legal standards.
- Conduct monitoring and auditing of financial transactions and expenditure processes to confirm the presence of sanctioned budget allocations for all expenses.
- Ensure that all financial documents comply with applicable laws, policies, and regulations.
- Detect, document, and compile evidence of expenditure violations.
- Engage in committees investigating financial irregularities such as deficits or embezzlement issues.
- Produce, present, clarify, and archive specialized financial control documentation and reports according to established protocols.
- Offer recommendations and solutions derived from financial control observations.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of financial records, accounts, and transactions through audits.
- Collaborate with departments to address audit findings and monitor the implementation of corrective measures.
- Keep abreast of contemporary financial control and auditing methodologies.
- Adhere to the strategic office's safety guidelines.
- Execute other duties assigned by the direct supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Preferably holds professional certifications such as SOCPA, CPA, CIA, or equivalents.
- Between three to five years of relevant experience in financial control, auditing, or accounting fields.
- Experience within government entities and understanding of government financial regulations is advantageous.

- Comprehensive understanding of financial regulations and government accounting standards.
- Strong analytical abilities and audit expertise to scrutinize financial documents and identify breaches.
- High accuracy and meticulousness in compiling financial control analyses and reports.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with internal teams and presenting financial findings.
