Role Overview

This position offers the chance to engage deeply with payroll systems to identify complex issues and develop smarter operational methods. As a Payroll Integration Specialist, you will ensure payroll systems, integrations, and governance frameworks uphold compliance and accuracy in payroll delivery across Australia. While familiar with end-to-end payroll operations, your primary responsibility is not direct payroll processing.

You will act as the expert for payroll systems, including SAP, SuccessFactors, and UKG, diagnosing problems, enhancing processes, strengthening governance, and facilitating seamless data flow within the payroll environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the main authority on payroll systems configurations and integrations.
• Investigate and resolve advanced payroll and system-related complications.
• Support governance and control frameworks to ensure payroll compliance.
• Collaborate with Payroll, HR, and IT departments to maintain accurate data across systems.
• Assist with system updates, testing, and process improvements.
• Provide operational payroll support during peak periods and absences.
• Ensure payroll systems reflect legislative and policy changes accurately.
• Perform data audits, identify discrepancies, and work with stakeholders for resolution.
• Develop reports, analytics, and insights to aid business decision-making.
• Maintain thorough documentation including process maps and governance materials.
• Contribute to continuous initiatives aiming for efficiency, risk mitigation, and service excellence.

Working Conditions

This full-time role is based in the Fortitude Valley office with options for hybrid work, including flexible schedules and early Friday finishes.

The ideal candidate is an experienced payroll professional passionate about system integrity, data accuracy, and problem-solving behind payroll functions. You are inquisitive, technically adept, and eager to challenge existing approaches for better solutions.

Qualifications and Skills

• Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle payroll environments in Australia and the US.
• Proficient in payroll configuration and use of SAP and SuccessFactors.
• Experience with rostering systems, time and attendance handling, preferably with Kronos/UKG.
• Track record supporting payroll system projects, integrations, and testing.
• Strong analytical capacity to interpret data and detect trends or risks.
• In-depth knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, enterprise agreements, and governance.
• Effective collaboration skills across Payroll, HR, and IT teams.
• Proactive problem solver with a mindset for innovation and attention to detail.
