Role overview

This opportunity is for a Construction Estimator in the fence and perimeter security sector. The company is growing quickly and is looking for someone who can thrive in a fast-paced, performance-focused setting while contributing to high-security projects nationwide.

The role involves preparing pricing and bid packages for specialized construction work and partnering with contractors, government teams, and other stakeholders to build tailored perimeter security solutions.

Compensation and location

Estimated pay is $70,000 to $125,000 per year, with eligibility for performance bonuses. The role is based in Jessup, Maryland and is hybrid in nature.

What you will handle

• Review architectural and construction drawings, along with specifications, to prepare accurate proposals.
• Run the full bid lifecycle and keep all submission timelines on track.
• Use Procore and Bluebeam to support a more efficient estimating workflow.
• Work closely with project managers, customers, and contractors so all scope details are reflected correctly in bids.
• Bring specialty contracting knowledge to strengthen proposal quality.
• Stay current on construction techniques and materials to improve estimate accuracy.
• Manage several bids at once while maintaining attention to detail across each one.

What the employer is looking for

• A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a similar discipline.
• At least 5 years of construction experience, specifically in estimating.
• Strong ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings.
• Hands-on experience handling bids from start to finish and coordinating multiple bid efforts simultaneously.
• Solid understanding of construction methods and materials.
• Background in specialty contracting.
• Comfort using Procore and Bluebeam software.
• Experience in facilities or security work is considered an advantage.
