Engineering Team Leader - Night Shift

About the Role

We are seeking an Engineering Team Leader to oversee the night shift operations at a prominent high-volume food manufacturing facility located in Corby. This permanent full-time position offers a salary of up to £58,000 annually. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in engineering supervision, particularly in fast-paced, 24/7 production settings, taking full ownership of the night shift team's performance and maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support two teams consisting of two engineers each, operating on the Panama shift pattern (10 PM to 6 AM, Monday through Friday).
• Ensure teams have adequate training, access to tools, equipment, and spare parts to effectively perform their duties.
• Maintain optimal facility uptime by balancing planned preventative maintenance with reactive repairs in alignment with Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) objectives.
• Drive the successful execution of CAPEX projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead root cause analysis activities and oversee condition monitoring across the plant.
• Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools to enhance service delivery and maintenance management.
• Engage hands-on in maintenance tasks and repairs alongside team members when necessary.

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrable previous experience in supervisory or leadership roles within engineering contexts, ideally in food production or manufacturing sectors.
• Proficient with maintenance methodologies and tools including Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and equipment condition monitoring.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a calm demeanor under pressure.
• Effective communication and leadership qualities to motivate and nurture a high-performing team.
• Adaptability to varying production demands and a flexible scheduling mindset.
