Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Inspector to be deployed offshore under an international certification and quality assurance entity. The professional will be responsible for performing thorough inspections, verification, and quality assurance of E&I systems and equipment on offshore platforms, ensuring adherence to established standards, codes, and hazardous area classifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and verify E&I equipment and installations on offshore platforms according to project and client specifications along with international standards.
- Carry out hazardous area (Ex) inspections confirming compliance with COMPEX and IECEx certification criteria.
- Examine and validate electrical and instrumentation documentation, including test records and certification files.
- Detect non-conformities and document inspection findings by generating detailed reports to facilitate corrective measures.
- Coordinate inspection timelines and share results with clients, contractors, and third-party stakeholders.
- Strictly follow health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols while operating in offshore environments.
- Keep comprehensive and timely records of inspections and closure documentation.
Requirements and Qualifications
- COMPEX and IECEx certifications are mandatory for this role.
- T-BOSIET (Tropical Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training) and H2S Awareness/Safety training are advantageous but not compulsory.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience specifically in Electrical and Instrumentation inspection.
- Diploma, degree, or equivalent in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering or related technical qualification.
- Extensive knowledge of hazardous area classification, inspection of Ex equipment, and international standards such as IEC, API, and IEEE.
- Competent in inspecting electrical installations, instrumentation systems, cabling, earthing/bonding, and Ex-rated equipment.
- Proficient in interpreting P&IDs, electrical single-line diagrams, and hook-up drawings.
- Strong skills in creating detailed inspection reports and managing non-conformance documentation.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Compliance
- A valid medical fitness certificate appropriate for offshore work (e.g., OGUK or equivalent) to be secured and verified before mobilization.
- Adherence to all client-specific HSE policies and offshore safety procedures is mandatory throughout the assignment.
