Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced EHS Supervisor certified by ARAMCO with a background in the Oil & Gas sector to join our team in Riyadh. The role involves overseeing compliance with environment, health, and safety standards while supporting project teams through comprehensive safety management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain all EHS documentation, including EHS plans, emergency response plans, and risk assessments.
- Attend EHS meetings with clients and project teams to discuss compliance and safety matters.
- Report all EHS-related issues promptly to the head office.
- Deliver EHS induction training for newly onboarded workers.
- Conduct daily inspections within the assigned zones to ensure safety standards are maintained.
- Verify that proper safe work permits are obtained from clients or main contractors before commencement of work.
- Perform thorough risk assessments across the site and communicate findings to site engineers and clients, especially regarding high-risk areas.
- Ensure quality delivery of toolbox talks by engineers weekly to foster EHS awareness.
- Confirm all personnel wear the required personal protective equipment such as helmets, safety shoes, and coveralls.
- Inspect equipment like ladders and scaffolds to ensure they are safe for use by workers.
- Maintain health and hygiene on site ensuring availability of drinking water, rest areas, adequate lighting, and ventilation.
- Ensure good housekeeping practices to prevent accidents and incidents on site.
- Conduct Job Hazard Analyses for high-risk activities to mitigate potential hazards.
- Encourage active participation from workers and engineers in adopting EHS best practices.
- Lead investigations of minor and major incidents collaboratively with engineers and communicate results for preventive measures.
- Provide first aid or arrange medical support promptly if a worker is injured.
- Maintain comprehensive records related to all EHS operations and activities.
- Establish and improve integrated health, safety, and environment management systems conforming to ISO45001, ISO14001, and ISO9001 standards.
- Conduct EHS training programs for both site engineers and workers, including HR-organized sessions.
- Identify hazards and conduct risk assessments for critical operations ensuring method statements reflect these findings.
- Prepare and implement EHS and Environmental Management Plans.
- Manage coordination of external EHS audits and third-party equipment inspections.
- Develop and execute emergency preparedness plans and conduct regular drills.
- Implement and monitor work permit systems rigorously.
- Coordinate occupational health and welfare initiatives.
- Draft EHS contractual conditions for subcontractors.
- Take initiative to halt work if unsafe practices are observed and promote a proactive safety culture.
- Conduct monthly project risk management audits and quarterly system audits.
- Regularly update project heads on EHS performance and status.
Qualifications and Expertise
- Minimum 8 to 12 years of experience in EHS supervision within the Oil and Gas industry.
- Certification as an ARAMCO-approved EHS Supervisor is mandatory.
- Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or Technology (BTech/BE/BSc).
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in safety documentation, EH&S compliance, risk/crisis leadership, risk assessment, fire inspections, incident investigation.
- Familiarity with standards such as NEBOSH, NIOSH, OSHA, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and IMS.
- Experience with audit management and working overseas is preferred.
Additional Information
The position is based on-site at Riyadh and requires hands-on supervision of health, safety, and environmental management systems in compliance with client and regulatory standards.
