Drone Technician

Position Summary

We are looking for a Drone Cleaning Technician / Drone Operator to handle cleaning tasks using drones on building facades, glass surfaces, solar panels, roofs, and other external structures at various locations in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This role involves operating commercial drones, carrying out site and safety assessments, maintaining drone and cleaning equipment, managing records and documentation, and ensuring all projects run safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate drones dedicated to cleaning operations.
• Perform thorough pre-flight and post-flight inspections of drone equipment.
• Conduct cleaning of building exteriors, including facades, glass panels, solar installations, and rooftops using drone technology.
• Assess weather and site conditions before each operation to ensure safety.
• Follow approved flight plans and company standard operating procedures.
• Maintain detailed flight logs and operational records for all drone activities.
• Conduct site inspections and perform risk assessments prior to starting work.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and site representatives to ensure smooth project flow.
• Set up necessary safety zones and barricades as required on-site.
• Ensure all permits and approvals are obtained before operations commence.
• Adhere strictly to company health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment and promptly report any incidents, safety hazards, or near misses.
• Protect the safety of the public, clients, property, and project personnel during operations.
• Inspect and perform maintenance on drones and related equipment such as batteries, controllers, pumps, hoses, and nozzles.
• Carry out routine preventative maintenance tasks and identify any equipment faults for repair.
• Assist with basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting to ensure operational readiness.
• Complete daily work reports, flight logs, before-and-after photographs, and service completion documentation.
• Keep records of equipment inspections and maintenance schedules up to date.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aviation, Mechanical, Electrical, or a closely related discipline is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience operating commercial drones, preferably in cleaning, inspections, or industrial applications.
• Experience with drone-based facade cleaning and high-rise building cleaning is advantageous.
• Familiarity with cleaning systems and pressure-washing equipment is preferred.
• Possession of a valid UAE driving license is a plus.

Drone License Requirements

• Preference given to candidates holding a valid UAE drone or remote pilot license or certification.
• Candidates without a valid drone license may be considered if they demonstrate relevant drone operation experience and technical skills.
• Applicants must be prepared and eligible to comply with UAE commercial drone operation regulations.
