Role Summary

The Dispatcher plays a pivotal role in overseeing all driver activities during their shifts. Main responsibilities involve assigning routes and loads to drivers, tracking their progress, resolving disruptions like traffic or weather delays, and maintaining smooth communication with drivers, clients, and internal teams to ensure timely and effective logistics operations.

Key Duties

• Respond promptly to driver inquiries by providing essential trip details such as trip sheets, access codes, trip numbers, and tractor keys.
• Assist senior planners and account coordinators with daily adjustments and additions as needed.
• Ensure completeness and timely updates of trip sheets and progress logs in the A1 system.
• Monitor freight status closely and take immediate action to manage delays or inconsistencies.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with fellow dispatchers and management.
• Maintain professional phone etiquette during all interactions with clients and team members.
• Organize incoming driver paperwork to support payroll processes.
• Provide customer service representatives with accurate information for reporting purposes.
• Collaborate with the maintenance shop to address repair needs and track related communications.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a dispatch or logistics support role.
• High school diploma or equivalent educational attainment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience managing multiple priorities effectively.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules and overtime when necessary.

Work Schedule and Location

This position is based in Brampton, Ontario, operating night shifts from Sunday through Thursday, 9:30 PM to 6:00 AM.
