Director - Project Management

Job Overview

As the Director of Project Management, you will spearhead and guide the strategic direction of multiple projects and programs. Your role includes managing personnel and allocating resources vital for the successful execution of projects, crafting budgets, policies, and procedures that support the organization's functional framework. The focus remains on delivering consistent results and successful completion of large-scale initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage a diverse portfolio of projects and programs in collaboration with company leadership.
• Recruit, develop, and evaluate project management staff to ensure operational efficiency across teams.
• Implement strategic governance by establishing standards, processes, and tools that optimize project management effectiveness.
• Create methodologies aimed at setting productivity and quality benchmarks while evaluating outcomes for projects and programs.
• Monitor projects from initiation through delivery, liaising with internal teams, external customers, and cross-functional groups.
• Engage with customers to negotiate and prepare detailed project specifications.
• Develop and execute thorough project plans, schedules, and deliverables, utilizing project management platforms such as MS Teams with organized digital filing systems.
• Define and maintain Risk Registers for all projects or programs, proactively addressing any escalated challenges affecting customer satisfaction or project timelines and coordinating appropriate solutions.
• Be accountable for the overall success of programs, providing regular status updates to executive management and functional leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or at least 10 years of senior-level experience in program/project management.
• Possession of PfMP or PMP certification is mandatory.
• Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role (director level or higher) with extensive cross-functional organizational collaboration.
• At least 10 years of overall project management experience.
• Experience with LEAN or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Strong interpersonal skills fostering alignment among partners and managing conflict constructively.
• Effective communication and presentation skills at the executive vice president level, adaptable to various audiences.
• Strategic thinker focused on identifying and prioritizing high-impact activities.
• Proven ability to coordinate large teams in matrixed organizational structures handling complex projects with several dependencies.
• Comfortable working in ambiguous environments with agility while maintaining momentum and team engagement.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
