Position Summary
The Director of Portfolio Management is tasked with leading P&L performance, strategy formulation, cross-departmental team coordination, product lifecycle oversight, demand stimulation, and launching new products aimed at addressing critical packaging challenges for customers. Success is measured by consistently achieving or surpassing revenue and margin targets while expanding market share.
Key Role Duties
- Assess commercial arrangements by weighing margin, sales volume, customer commitments, and other conditions.
- Enhance average selling price by equipping commercial teams with competitive pricing and compelling value propositions.
- Recommend pricing adjustments to counter inflation, respond to market trends, or boost market share for portfolios.
- Implement cost reduction measures tied to return on investment and reallocate savings accordingly.
- Champion business cases for investments that enhance growth and cost efficiency within portfolios.
- Utilize advanced financial modeling to allocate resources optimally.
- Conduct market and competitive analyses to set strategic priorities, fully understanding market dynamics and competitive landscapes.
- Develop winning strategies leveraging Sealed Air’s strengths to exploit market gaps and underserved segments.
- Identify and address capability and expertise shortfalls.
- Establish measurable growth priorities aligned with annual operating plans for portfolios.
- Define innovative roadmaps and manage product lifecycle strategies to maximize growth and reduce obsolescence.
- Gain deep insights into customer values and unmet needs via voice of customer research to influence product critical-to-quality attributes.
- Create convincing value propositions and advocate for product enhancements.
- Lead new product launches and promotional efforts, including developing collateral, training, and customer events.
- Collaborate with sales to fuel market development and strategic initiatives.
- Utilize cross-functional knowledge to shape and execute strategies effectively.
- Serve as a trusted consultant to leadership and external partners.
- Coordinate and advocate strategic priorities across functions within the portfolio group.
- Facilitate decision-making processes to align interests and optimize value creation.
- Develop and nurture relationships with key customers and partners to gather insights and unlock new market opportunities.
- Improve internal processes and frameworks to boost efficiency.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, or engineering; MBA highly preferred.
- Over 10 years of experience in B2B product management related to packaging, industrial, or technical products within distribution channels.
- Demonstrated success managing integrated product portfolios, including hardware, consumables, and service components.
- Willingness to travel up to 40% for customer meetings, trade shows, and partner engagements.
- Proficiency with product lifecycle management tools, customer relationship management systems, and data analytics platforms.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary ranges between $116,300 and $200,675, compliant with relevant pay transparency laws. Final offers depend on education, experience, and internal benchmarks. The role may be eligible for annual bonuses and incentive programs.
