Position Summary

The Director of Operations & Logistics leads the material operations team day-to-day, ensuring accurate and timely material processing. This role oversees inventory control, freight logistics, quality assurance, and warehouse and facility operations. The Director administers organizational logistics policies, champions continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs, manages vendor relationships, and ensures strict adherence to regulatory and quality standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the operations team, providing daily assignments and guidance on tasks and projects.
• Manage recurring and daily operational processes crucial to business delivery while identifying opportunities to optimize workflows.
• Formulate and execute strategies to achieve critical business targets with optimal efficiency.
• Review and recommend updates to organizational policies and standard operating procedures.
• Ensure timely and effective training of new team members.
• Design warehousing policies concerning the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and equipment.
• Coordinate and verify physical inventory counts to align with warehouse management systems.
• Guarantee compliance with applicable regulations pertaining to materials handling, storage, and distribution.
• Implement and enforce logistics policies for the transportation of goods and supplies.
• Drive efficiency improvements and cost reductions across logistics operations.
• Manage vendor relationships to ensure seamless supply chain continuity without delays or material loss.
• Oversee product inspections to confirm compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
• Develop and evaluate inspection procedures and quality control processes.
• Recommend and implement improvements to testing methods based on ongoing assessments.
• Develop corrective measures when quality issues are detected.
• Ensure compliance with ASA/AFRA regulations and lead the preparation for associated audits to maintain accreditation.
• Manage warehouse and facility operations to ensure full functionality and continuous enhancement of the building.
• Lead warehouse and building improvement projects from initial planning through execution.
• Track inventory accurately through physical counts cross-checked with warehousing systems.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.
• Extensive experience managing operations, warehouse logistics, quality control, and freight coordination.
• Exceptional leadership capabilities with strong organizational and problem-solving aptitude.
• Knowledgeable about aviation regulations relevant to materials handling, storage, and distribution processes.

Work Location

This position is based onsite at INAV’s office in Crystal Lake, Illinois.
