Role Overview

The Director of Life Sciences Strategy & Intelligence leads client engagements, develops team capabilities, and shapes strategic direction. This senior leadership position balances client delivery and team mentorship, serving as a trusted advisor while maintaining hands-on involvement in projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple client engagements to deliver strategic, actionable insights aligned with client business goals.
• Enhance team output by clarifying key insights and tying them to client priorities.
• Act as a senior thought partner and escalation resource for clients.
• Maintain the highest quality and professionalism in all deliverables.
• Lead, mentor, and develop team members to foster collaboration and high performance.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in therapeutic areas and competitive intelligence.
• Support business development activities, including proposal preparation and pitches.
• Identify and cultivate additional client opportunities for value delivery.
• Represent the firm in client meetings, workshops, and industry events.
• Drive operational excellence through project management, resourcing, and workflow optimization.
• Champion innovation by integrating AI, automation, and new delivery methods.
• Refine internal processes to enhance quality, consistency, and efficiency.
• Participate directly in complex project tasks such as research design and insight generation.
• Engage in client workshops and strategic discussions to facilitate competitive strategy and scenario planning.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences (e.g., Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology); advanced degree (MS, PhD, MBA) strongly preferred.
• 6 to 10+ years of relevant experience in life sciences consulting, competitive intelligence, or strategic insights.
• Proven leadership in managing teams and complex client projects.
• Experience in client-facing roles with strong stakeholder management skills.
• Familiarity with pharma strategic workshops and scenario planning.
