About the Role
Zof AI is looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer in Accra, Ghana, to manage infrastructure supporting extensive sandboxed agent workloads running customer code securely and cost-effectively. This full-time position involves ownership of the execution layer of the control plane including Kubernetes, container orchestration, CI/CD systems, and mechanisms for strong code isolation, monitoring, and financial efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain sandbox environments for defect reproduction and fix validation by agents.
- Take complete ownership of Kubernetes clusters, container management, and compute infrastructure.
- Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable frequent, safe software releases.
- Enhance isolation mechanisms to ensure untrusted customer code remains contained.
- Implement logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting to proactively identify and resolve failures.
- Optimize resource scheduling, autoscaling, and capacity planning to reduce costs per agent execution.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment processes, rollbacks, and environment configurations.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure infrastructure is secure, reliable, and performance-oriented.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience managing production infrastructure on leading cloud platforms.
- Proficient with Kubernetes, container technologies, and orchestration tools.
- Expertise in creating CI/CD workflows and automating deployments with Infrastructure as Code.
- Knowledgeable in observability best practices including monitoring and incident response.
- Solid judgment balancing security, system reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Regularly utilize AI tools to streamline operational and engineering tasks.
- Effective communicator, both written and verbal.
- Ability to adapt and perform in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with sandboxing or multi-tenant isolation technologies like gVisor or Firecracker.
- Familiarity with Terraform, Pulumi, or comparable Infrastructure as Code solutions.
- Competence in operating cost-efficient large batch or job-based workloads.
- Background in developing infrastructure during early-stage platform initiatives.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary ranging from GHS 8,000 to 16,000 monthly plus meaningful equity participation.
