Working Relationships

Reporting to the Head of Data Engineering Unit, you will collaborate closely with IT and Data Governance teams and liaise with various directorates utilizing the data platforms. Daily interactions with software vendors and service providers are integral to optimizing service delivery and staying current with best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure Data Warehouse and Data Lake platforms comply with IT policies and meet qualitative and quantitative goals, standardizing ETL development practices.
  • Lead comprehensive business analysis and develop cost-effective IT solutions aligned with organizational needs.
  • Manage and deliver IT projects within scope, time, and budget, proactively addressing risks.
  • Produce and review project documents, including charters, functional designs, test scripts, and progress reports in alignment with team objectives.
  • Create and maintain ETL jobs following best practices and establish metrics to monitor data extraction enhancements.
  • Apply technical expertise to define, test, implement, and maintain data extraction processes collaborating with stakeholders across departments.
  • Deliver prompt end-user support, including issue resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvements.
  • Advise on Data Warehouse and Data Lake operations to align with best practices, focusing on data extraction and associated workflows.
  • Contribute to special projects that may extend beyond standard scope, ensuring successful completion within defined constraints.

Qualifications

  • A university degree equivalent to a Bachelor's, preferably in IT, Mathematics, Finance, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum five years of relevant IT experience focused on data extraction management within Data Warehouse or Data Lake environments, ideally in international financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies.
  • Experience with Public Cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Proficiency with ETL tools like IBM Infosphere Datastage, Talend, or Informatica, and reporting tools including MS Power BI or equivalents.
  • Familiarity with Data Lake technologies such as MS Data Fabric, Amazon Data Lake, Databricks, or Snowflake.
  • Competence in developing, testing, and implementing business rules for enterprise data warehouses.
  • Experience in setting up extraction performance metrics and implementing controls for ongoing improvement.
  • Demonstrated success in improving data extraction processes with result orientation.
  • Knowledge of big data storage solutions including Azure Storage Account, Lakehouse, and Amazon S3.
  • Excellent command of English and/or French is required, with proficiency in the other language considered advantageous; knowledge of additional EU languages is a plus.
