About the Team

The Fulfilment team addresses some of the company's most influential challenges. Their real-time engines support all of Gojek's on-demand services—food delivery, ride-hailing, and logistics—ensuring millions of orders are fulfilled punctually daily.

The team deals with issues such as optimizing driver incentives under budget constraints, dynamically balancing pricing to maximize revenue and fairness, understanding driver behaviors on long-distance trips, estimating food preparation times, and making sub-millisecond real-time decisions.

The solutions require a combination of solid data, innovative modeling, thoughtful product design, rigorous experimentation, and scalable deployment facilitated by rich data, strong interdisciplinary partnerships, and modern MLOps infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Convert intricate business questions into well-formulated technical challenges solvable via data analytics, statistics, and machine learning.
• Collaborate extensively with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to create and scale data-driven solutions for driver allocation, surge pricing, and incentive mechanisms.
• Manage the entire machine learning lifecycle from concept and research through model building, pipeline creation, deployment, experimentation, and measuring business impact.
• Enhance the effectiveness of dynamic driver incentives using methodologies including machine learning, causal inference, optimization, and simulation.
• Design robust experiments to assess model outcomes, partnering with analysts and product teams for precise evaluation and success metrics.
• Continuously monitor model performance, identify potential improvements, and propose actionable solutions.
• Communicate insights, trade-offs, and technical decisions clearly to diverse cross-functional teams, operating autonomously in ambiguous situations.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, or related quantitative disciplines.
• Demonstrate a strong foundation in statistics and machine learning principles, supported by coursework or applied projects.
• Proficient in Python and SQL programming, with experience in data analysis or modeling libraries.
• Exhibit excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, able to derive conclusions from data and communicate results effectively.
• Show eagerness for fast learning, initiative-taking, and cooperative work within cross-functional teams.
