Job Overview

We invite you to be part of our pioneering team focused on AI risk management. Luminos.AI creates solutions to monitor AI technologies ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards. We are seeking a passionate Data Scientist to join our research group, concentrating on customer-facing AI systems and their evaluation frameworks. In this critical role, you will create advanced methodologies and tools to analyze outputs of AI/ML models and conduct experiments for continual improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and build AI frameworks to train, adjust, and regulate other AI models.
• Create and deploy comprehensive evaluation systems for AI technologies.
• Formulate algorithms and models to identify and reduce legal risks linked to AI outputs, emphasizing compliance.
• Investigate emerging AI advancements and innovate solutions to advance AI governance.
• Share research outcomes and represent Luminos.AI at conferences, workshops, and industry events.
• Collaborate with clients to resolve challenges in conventional ML and generative AI platforms.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, AI/ML, or closely related disciplines.
• Demonstrated expertise in quantitative analysis of intricate problems.
• Proficient programming skills in Python or equivalent languages, including modern practices such as type hinting and asynchronous programming.
• Understanding or enthusiasm for learning about data privacy laws, ethical AI frameworks, and regulatory landscapes.
• Effective teamwork ability within a dynamic, cross-disciplinary environment.

Preferred Extras

• Hands-on experience with both generative AI and traditional AI/ML systems.
• Proficiency in crafting production-level Python code for web services and libraries.
• Knowledge of strongly typed Python data structures like typed Dicts or Pydantic.
• Experience with generative AI prompt engineering, model execution, fine-tuning, and distillation techniques.
• Familiarity with common Python libraries utilized in generative AI workflows.
