Data Centre Critical Infrastructure Engineer

Role overview

This position sits within a mission-critical facilities environment in Singapore. The engineer will help keep data centre and office infrastructure running safely, reliably, and efficiently, with a strong focus on operational continuity and service quality.

What you will do

• Oversee routine operation and upkeep of essential infrastructure, covering generators, UPS units, DC rectifier systems, static transfer switches, fire protection systems, high-tension/low-tension electrical systems, ACMV, and building management systems.
• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance and reactively complete corrective maintenance in line with approved timelines and service expectations.
• Track facility performance to support high availability, dependable operation, and efficient day-to-day functioning.
• Administer physical and electronic security measures, including access cards, CCTV monitoring, and visitor control tracking.
• Handle customer service work orders and ensure tasks are completed within committed turnaround times.
• Help evaluate and coordinate tender exercises, and assist with project delivery for infrastructure improvements and capacity expansion.
• Keep maintenance documentation accurate, including logs, as well as M&E, building, and schematic drawings.
• Perform regular site checks to spot safety risks or unsafe conditions, then follow through with corrective actions aligned to regulatory standards.
• Assist with lease-related coordination involving landlords, tenants, and internal teams when needed.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders, vendors, contractors, and authorities on facilities matters.
• Support risk assessments and contribute to mitigation actions for operational risks.
• Take part in 24/7 standby coverage and respond to incidents, faults, and urgent operational issues.
• Undertake additional infrastructure and facilities tasks assigned by management.

What we are looking for

• A diploma or degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Telecommunications, Facilities Management, or a closely related field.
• 0 to 3 years of experience in facilities operations and maintenance, ideally in a data centre or other critical environment.
• Fresh diploma holders with a proactive attitude and a willingness to learn may also be considered.
• Practical understanding of critical facilities equipment and building maintenance activities.
• Prior exposure to data centre operations, electrical systems, ACMV, fire systems, or building management systems is preferred.
• Basic familiarity with networking, broadband access, or structured cabling would be an added advantage.
• Comfort using MS Office; exposure to AutoCAD and MS Project is preferred.
• Previous experience coordinating with vendors, contractors, or service providers will be beneficial.
• Strong troubleshooting ability and the resilience to perform under pressure in a high-importance environment.
• Clear communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively across multiple stakeholder groups.

Additional information

This is a full-time onsite role based in Singapore. The work involves critical infrastructure support for data centres and office environments, including standby duties and operational response responsibilities.
