Data Analyst – Fraud & Financial Crime

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Data Analyst to join our Banking Foundations team focused on Customer Risk Lifecycle. This key position supports the advancement of one of the leading fintech products worldwide by enabling data-driven decision-making and strategic insights within Fraud & Financial Crime operations.

Main Responsibilities

• Define and establish precise, measurable objectives aligned with the scope of initiatives, enhancing forecasting and goal-setting efficiency.
• Act as the primary data consultant for your product teams, addressing their data-related inquiries.
• Design and evaluate product experiments and tests, ensuring cross-functional coordination, executing in-depth analyses, and communicating actionable results effectively.
• Collaborate with technical colleagues to develop self-service analytics platforms that empower teams to independently explore and interpret data insights.
• Create and maintain dashboards monitoring weekly progress toward company objectives (OKRs).
• Promote data literacy through targeted training sessions and workshops, enabling teams to independently access and interpret data.
• Engage with other analytics teams across the organisation to leverage shared data platforms, insights, and innovations.
• Support product and business teams by identifying new product ideas, analysing user friction, and exploring business opportunities.
• Assess ongoing releases to confirm alignment with business goals through both experimental and observational analyses.
• Work alongside UX researchers to integrate qualitative and quantitative data for validating product hypotheses.
• Ensure comprehensive data capture during product development by setting up event tracking or backend data collection.
• Lead quantitative analyses for your segment, driving business insights and discovery.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of three years experience in product or analytics roles.
• Strong proficiency in statistical techniques for analyzing experimental and observational data.
• Advanced skills in SQL and Python or R for data analysis.
• Experience with popular data visualization tools such as Tableau, Metabase, Looker, or Superset.
• Effective communication and presentation capabilities.
• Prior experience in fast-growing startups with exposure to Fraud or Anti-Financial Crime domains is advantageous.
• Background in quantitative research is a plus.
• Experience in the fintech industry is desirable.
