Role overview

Integrated Finance & Accounting Solutions (IFAS) is looking for a Dashboard Developer in Washington, DC to build and support data visualization solutions that help teams make informed decisions. The role focuses on turning complex data into clear, useful dashboards for analysis and presentation, with a strong emphasis on Tableau and business intelligence practices.

Key responsibilities

• Create, enhance, and support Tableau dashboards and visual reports used for financial analysis, procurement monitoring, and resource planning.
• Combine data from several systems and formats, including SQL databases, Excel files, APIs, and other financial or acquisition sources.
• Use data visualization judgment to choose the right display approach for exploratory analysis and polished stakeholder presentations.
• Work with stakeholders to collect requirements and translate them into practical dashboard solutions.
• Carry out ETL activities to clean, transform, and prepare data for reporting and dashboard delivery.
• Support business intelligence needs through data modeling, KPI definition, and reporting design.
• Check dashboard output for accuracy, participate in user acceptance testing, and resolve issues when they arise.
• Set up and maintain access permissions and data protection measures in Tableau Server or Tableau Online.
• Document dashboard functionality, data inputs, and maintenance steps, and keep dashboards operational over time.

Requirements

• At least 2 to 5 years of practical experience building and maintaining Tableau dashboards and visualizations.
• A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience from an accredited university.
• Hands-on experience working with databases, data warehouses, and multiple data sources such as SQL, Excel, and APIs.
• Background in business intelligence reporting, including requirements collection, data modeling, and KPI development.
• Experience performing ETL work to prepare and clean data for reporting use.
• Ability to work with stakeholders to define needs and deliver insights that can be acted on.
• Experience validating dashboard accuracy, conducting UAT, and fixing dashboard-related issues.
• Experience writing documentation for dashboards, data sources, and maintenance processes.
• Experience managing access controls and security settings in Tableau Server or Tableau Online.
• Strong English communication skills, including the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the language fluently.
• Preferred background includes acquisition and budget dashboard development, financial reporting, procurement tracking, and resource allocation.
• Additional preferred experience includes integrating data from finance and acquisition systems, Tableau certifications, other BI platforms such as Power BI or Qlik, and expertise in data science, statistical analysis, or data visualization.
