Customs Clearing and Reporting Officer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized, analytical, and detail-focused individual to join our team as a Customs Clearing and Reporting Officer. This role requires a solid understanding of logistics and customs clearing operations, with a special emphasis on reporting activities related to mining consignments. The successful candidate will be responsible for tracking, analyzing, and presenting information to both clients and internal management.

Responsibilities

• Generate accurate and timely operational reports concerning customs clearing activities for clients and management.
• Monitor the progress of clearing jobs, shipments, necessary documentation, duties, permits, and other customs procedures.
• Design and maintain KPI dashboards to assess operational performance, including delays, processing times, and service standards.
• Identify and analyze bottlenecks, documentation shortcomings, delays, and other areas needing management intervention.
• Assist the team by performing data analysis and presenting performance metrics specifically related to mining consignments.
• Collaborate closely with operations, transport, customs, finance, and client service teams to ensure data accuracy and currency.

Qualifications and Skills

• Degree or higher diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Statistics, or related areas preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel including data organization, formula usage, summary preparation, and dashboard creation.
• Effective communication and presentation skills to clearly explain reports and updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Strong abilities in KPI monitoring, data analysis, and performance tracking.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, proactive follow-up, and reliability in meeting reporting deadlines.

Industry Experience (Preferred)

• Prior background in customs clearing, freight forwarding, logistics, or transport operations is advantageous.
• Experience handling mining-related items, equipment, spare parts, or industrial consignments is a significant plus.
• Familiarity with mining logistics, customs clearance processes, port operations, documentation standards, and transport coordination is beneficial.
