CSA Estimator

About the Role

Winthrop Technologies, Europe’s leading dedicated data center delivery company, is seeking a CSA Estimator to join the expanding team at its Dublin headquarters. This position will report directly to the Estimating Director and focuses on supporting a range of major data centre projects across Europe. The role provides significant opportunities to contribute to and learn from top industry professionals within a company known for reliability and quality in data center construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee major tender submissions for extended project durations.
• Develop precise cost estimates using architectural and engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Manage and document project quantities, and create comprehensive pricing files.
• Solicit quotations for specific project sections from both Irish and European subcontractors and suppliers, evaluating and selecting the most suitable bids.
• Use spreadsheets to systematically analyse, compare, and rationalize subcontractor bids.
• Assist with maintaining and updating the company cost database for future reference.
• Present finalized estimates to senior management and the Board as needed.
• Nurture relationships with important external partners such as subcontractors, suppliers, and engineers.
• Remain up-to-date on industry trends and developments to improve internal processes.
• Help develop and adhere to robust quality control procedures for estimating documentation.
• Support and comply with the company’s quality assurance policies.
• Participate in personal growth strategies including performance appraisals.
• Perform additional duties as directed by Winthrop Management, adapting to departmental needs.
• Safeguard confidential information particularly that shared by or sourced from others.
• Demonstrate commitment to producing high-quality tender documentation and maintaining safety standards on all projects.
• Proactively recognize and evaluate project risks.

Candidate Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in an estimating role addressing civil, structural, and architectural (CSA) disciplines or comparable trade/engineering background.
• Demonstrated analytical and numeric reasoning abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong collaborative skills and readiness to work in a fast-moving, team-oriented environment.
• Familiarity with FIDIC contracts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and experience with industry-standard QS Bill of Quantities production tools (such as Buildsoft or CostX).
