This diverse team of professionals includes journalists, editors, creative directors, designers, videographers, producers, managers, and developers, who collaborate to produce novel branded advertising and audio content embedded within The New York Times ecosystem.
Role Overview
The Creative Video Producer will ideate and supervise the production of premium branded video content. Responsibilities encompass research, managing partnerships with production resources, preparing teams for client engagements, conceiving and overseeing branded video shoots, and managing post-production processes.
This position primarily involves collaborating and pitching video concepts alongside T Brand teams and sales colleagues. It requires interfacing with clients and internal stakeholders to present concepts and guarantee client satisfaction with delivered films. This is a temporary hybrid role based in New York City headquarters, typically involving three days per week onsite, reporting to the Director of Creative Production.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate innovative video ideas responsive to requests for proposals across varied budgets.
- Lead development of video pitches, including bidding and treatments during pre-sales.
- When necessary, execute creative video concepts working with internal and external production partners post-sale.
- Coordinate production timelines, oversee selects, rough and final cuts collaboratively with clients, production teams, and post-production units.
- Serve as client contact in pre-sale phases, communicating complex video ideas, managing correspondence, on-set engagement, post-production communication, and scope control.
- Draft and negotiate contracts and maintain documentation related to invoicing and release forms.
- Maximize efficiency and creative scope at every production stage, identifying internal resource opportunities to control budgets.
- Uphold NYT’s journalistic independence and commitment to truth and clarity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Over six years of experience in film production.
- Proven ability to manage and nurture client relationships.
- Strong commercial acumen and comprehensive knowledge of all facets of commercial film production and editing.
- Experience managing field and line producing for branded content or commercial media.
- Demonstrated success in creative outcomes and project delivery.
- Capability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
- Manage creative processes from concept inception to launch.
- Collaborate with diverse teams including editorial, legal, risk management, and finance.
- Familiarity with digital media workflows and production technologies.
- Understanding of social media and branded content environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in TV, film, communications, journalism, advertising, or related areas (BFA, BA, MA).
Compensation and Benefits
The base hourly pay ranges from $52 to $65 USD. Eligible candidates may also receive variable compensation such as annual bonuses and restricted stock awards.
