Role Overview
The Creative Designer position is a full-time role based in Ally's Vancouver office with one day of remote flexibility weekly. This role is ideal for a proactive and visionary designer passionate about meaningful, mission-driven work. The designer will generate and oversee creative design concepts throughout their lifecycle, balancing brand consistency with innovative approaches to enhance Ally's visual and emotional presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Propose innovative design ideas that challenge standard nonprofit approaches, positioning Ally as a leader in the charitable sector.
- Maintain and evolve the visual identity of Ally, blending brand stewardship with creative development.
- Keep informed of current trends in design, digital media, and storytelling, integrating them where appropriate.
- Ensure high-quality design output across print, social media, web, and film projects with attention to detail.
- Design cohesive digital experiences aligned with campaign goals beyond isolated assets.
- Manage creative projects independently from conception to delivery, adapting designs for varying formats and audiences while preserving their integrity.
- Collaborate effectively with marketing and communications teams, contributing strategically and creatively to campaign development and execution.
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously, managing workflows, timelines, and approvals with minimal supervision.
- Apply empathy and thoughtfulness in storytelling through design to communicate sensitive topics respectfully and impactfully.
Desired Qualifications
- Portfolio showcasing strong graphic design skills with innovative and executed concepts across multiple mediums.
- Experience managing creative projects from ideation to multi-channel implementation.
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational abilities and capacity to handle competing priorities.
- Ability to collaborate and contribute positively within a creative team environment.
- Passion for design as both an art form and a tool to support Ally’s mission.
- Alignment with Ally’s values focused on child protection.
- Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Competency or keen interest in video and motion graphics tools like Premiere Pro and After Effects.
- Adaptability in designing for primarily digital platforms and various distribution channels.
Compensation and Benefits
- Starting salary: $60000 per year
