Overview
The Corporate Banking Associate role at Citi is designed for mid-level professionals who contribute to the Corporate Bank by managing client relationships, offering expertise in capital structure, and providing corporate finance guidance. The individual will be part of a highly regarded team commanding a significant market share in Ireland's banking sector and recognized with prestigious industry awards.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior bankers to develop opportunities with existing clients across corporate, financial institutions, and public sector industries, coordinating closely with teams from Investment Banking, Capital Markets, Treasury & Trade Solutions, and Markets.
- Facilitate cross-selling of Citi’s comprehensive product suite by assessing client needs and generating revenue.
- Prepare detailed analytical client materials concerning corporate finance, capital structuring, and optimal financing approaches.
- Analyze public company filings, research documentation, operational data, business plans, and financial forecasts to perform strategic and financial evaluation.
- Maintain awareness of market trends, industry developments, best practices, and competitive dynamics.
- Assess risks carefully in decision-making to protect the firm’s reputation and assets, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies while exercising ethical judgment.
- Support daily cash management activities, trading initiatives, vendor finance, foreign exchange, loan transactions, debt capital market transactions, share repurchases, and interest rate or equity derivative operations.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in corporate finance with a solid understanding of capital structure determinants.
- Proficient in financial modeling, credit analysis, and financial assessment.
- Adept at working in fast-paced settings with proven multitasking capabilities.
- Effective and clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Prior experience in corporate banking, investment banking, corporate finance, or capital markets is preferred.
- An MBA or Master’s in Business is advantageous.
- Strong credit evaluation skills and familiarity with Citi’s credit policies.
- Experience ranging between 2 to 6 years in Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Credit, Leveraged Finance, or Commercial Banking roles.
Education
Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

This position is classified as a "Controlled Function" under the Central Bank of Ireland Reform Act regulations. The salary range for this full-time position is €120,000 to €135,000 annually.
