Overview
The Corporate Banking Analyst role in Qatar involves managing portfolios for Large Corporate, Public Sector, and Financial Institution clients. This entry-level position primarily supports the provision of treasury, financial solutions, corporate finance, and advisory services. The analyst partners with the Corporate Banking team to assist in executing Citi’s broad product range. The role focuses on credit analysis, transaction execution, preparation of pitch presentations, and conducting KYC due diligence to facilitate efficient client relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute as a junior member in client transactions, projects, or assignments within a professional team setting.
- Lead credit analytical tasks for existing client relationships, including routine financial performance reviews and development of credit and capital approval recommendations for new credit requests.
- Keep up to date with market trends, industry developments, best practices, and competitive dynamics.
- Develop client-specific pitch materials, support episodic financial transactions and financings, and assist relationship bankers to enhance client engagement.
- Support daily operations including cash management, trading activities, FX and loan transactions, as well as KYC maintenance and credit limit administration.
- Analyze complex financial data for client proposals and strategic planning.
- Draft written recommendations and construct statistical exhibits.
- Conduct research on economic and financial issues.
- Evaluate company financial performances relative to industry and market trends.
- Manage risk with a strong sense of responsibility by adhering to laws, regulations, policies, and ethical standards, safeguarding the firm and clients, and transparently reporting control issues.
Qualifications and Skills
- Entry-level to up to 2 years relevant experience; ideal candidates are recent graduates with 2-5 years maximum experience.
- Basic understanding of financial statements and accounting principles; experience in financial modeling is an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong planning and organizational abilities.
Education
A bachelor's degree is required at minimum.
