Role Overview

This position focuses on dynamic content creation tailored for social media, demanding expertise in producing scroll-stopping material. Candidates will operate at the intersection of creative content and technical production, utilizing skills in lighting, exposure, and talent direction with equipment ranging from smartphones to Sony FX30 cameras. As part of a rapidly growing company, the role emphasizes leadership in set management, development of production workflows, and mentoring emerging production talent.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce diverse content aligned with creative briefs, adapting from quick phone-captured footage to elaborate multi-camera setups at a high daily volume.
• Manage all aspects of on-set production including preparation, scheduling, logistical coordination, location selection, and set aesthetic arrangement.
• Skillfully operate and configure camera systems, lighting, and audio equipment, notably multi-camera DSLR setups involving Sony FX30 or similar models, ensuring optimal exposure, color accuracy, and lighting effects.
• Direct and coach talent for compelling on-camera performances.
• Lead and mentor junior production members and interns to maintain consistent and efficient shoot execution.
• Collaborate closely with Creative Strategists to convert scripts into actionable production plans.
• Continuously monitor social media trends, including formats and creator behaviors, integrating this understanding into production approaches.
• Leverage a broad network of New York City creators to secure talent for various projects.
• Demonstrate willingness to appear on camera when necessary.
• Coordinate with editors post-production for seamless footage handoff with clear context.
• Ensure maintenance, inventory control, and operational readiness of production equipment daily.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven content creator with a portfolio showcasing substantial work.
• At least 2 years experience executing social media content production using both phone and DSLR cameras.
• Strong knowledge of Director of Photography principles including exposure, color, composition, and lighting, applied practically on set.
• Proficiency with Sony cameras like the FX30 and comfort operating phone cameras.
• Experience in set management and design, ensuring spaces are deliberately styled.
• Competence in directing talents of varying skill levels.
• Highly engaged social media user with keen awareness of current cultural and social trends.
• Excellent organizational skills managing multiple simultaneous shoots effectively.
• Ability to remain composed and solution-oriented under unforeseen challenges.
• Robust network of active NYC creators to engage for productions.
• Preferred experience includes producing content specifically for paid social or performance marketing campaigns.
