Role Overview

We are seeking a Configuration Manager Level 2 based in Bremen, Germany within the Defence sector. This full-time role involves comprehensive management of project and product configuration processes to ensure rigorous control and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and implement configuration management strategies across projects and product teams following established frameworks.
• Provide support to various business units and projects in applying configuration management procedures effectively.
• Identify, plan, and define product structure for both hardware and software components, including assigning manufacturer and material part numbers for in-house elements.
• Participate actively in the change control board, contributing to decision-making processes.
• Oversee change management activities within projects, setting guidelines for implementing modifications.
• Organize and execute internal and external configuration audits within project scopes.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of configuration data, including generating reports such as analyses and change logs.
• Define configuration statuses and monitor their compliance throughout project lifecycles.
• Authorize project documentation and define monitoring standards for build statuses.
• Secure development outputs and archive all product-related documents efficiently.
• Provide updates on the status of delivered products relative to their material numbers and build conditions.
• Enhance and sustain the configuration management system utilizing SAP.
• Design and conduct training sessions on configuration management principles and practices.

Candidate Requirements

• Completion of a Bachelor's degree in engineering or an equivalent state-certified technician qualification.
• Multiple years of proven experience in configuration management roles.
• Strong proficiency with MS Office and SAP, particularly in materials management, configuration, and change management modules.
• Comprehensive understanding of configuration management processes.
• Active certifications such as CM2 or CMPIC levels 1–4 and 10.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and German.
• Willingness and ability to undertake international travel commitments.
