About TEDxMaitama

TEDxMaitama is a platform dedicated to spreading valuable ideas by connecting thinkers, innovators, entrepreneurs, creatives, professionals, policymakers, and changemakers to inspire impactful actions.

Role Summary

The Community Manager will play a crucial role in cultivating and managing the TEDxMaitama community across both digital and physical spaces, fostering relationships with attendees, speakers, volunteers, partners, and alumni. The aim is to transform TEDxMaitama from a once-a-year event into an engaged, thriving network centered on ideas, dialogue, collaboration, and social impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement strategies to grow and diversify the TEDxMaitama community on online and offline platforms.
  • Forge and maintain strong connections with attendees, speakers, alumni, volunteers, and supporters.
  • Create engaging dialogue, activities, and campaigns across channels such as WhatsApp, Telegram, LinkedIn, and email communities.
  • Manage community platforms ensuring open, respectful communication and timely response to inquiries and feedback.
  • Engage and empower volunteers and ambassadors to represent and extend TEDxMaitama’s reach.
  • Coordinate and support TEDxMaitama events, including pre- and post-event engagement initiatives and ongoing conversations.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with past speakers and alumni through structured engagement programs.
  • Collaborate with marketing and content teams to spotlight community achievements and stories.
  • Identify partnership opportunities with aligned organizations to broaden TEDxMaitama’s impact.
  • Monitor community health through metrics and provide regular reporting to guide continuous improvement.
  • Moderate community spaces, uphold guidelines, handle conflicts diplomatically, and protect the organization’s reputation.

Desired Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, PR, Business, Sociology, Media, or related discipline is preferred.
  • Between 2 to 4 years’ experience in community management, social media, communications, events, marketing, or customer success roles.
  • Proven track record managing online or membership communities.
  • Experience with events, conferences, startups, nonprofits, or media networks is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with digital community platforms and engagement analytics.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills alongside strong interpersonal aptitude.
  • Ability to juggle multiple stakeholders and priorities with effective organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficient with tools such as WhatsApp, Telegram, LinkedIn, Slack, and Google Workspace.
  • Basic understanding of community data analytics.

Collaboration

The Community Manager will coordinate with multiple teams including Curator, Marketing, Social Media, Events, Volunteers, Speaker Relations, Partnerships, and TEDxMaitama leadership.
